Vine motifs in Kashmiri Aari embroidery are among the oldest design elements in the craft's vocabulary — drawn from the valley's climbing plants, wildflower stems, and the flowing lines of the Jhelum river. The decision to place vine motifs in vertical formation on midnight blue reflects an artisan's understanding of how botanical imagery creates structure within a fluid garment. The designs were conceived by artisan designers in the Kashmir Valley, produced there, and finished there.
