Novbahar — Black Kashmiri Aari Co-ord Set with Burnt Orange Embroidery
Description
Black absorbs everything — light, attention, noise. Burnt orange gives it back. On the Novbahar Black Co-ord Set with Burnt Orange Embroidery, the contrast between the jet black Ruby Cotton base and the bold traditional Kashmiri Aari motifs in burnt orange is not subtle — it is the whole point. This is the piece in the Novbahar Collection that makes a decision the moment you put it on.
Part of the Novbahar 2026 Collection by KashmirPheran — our first collection of Kashmiri Aari embroidery co-ord sets designed by artisans rooted in the Kashmir Valley — this is the piece for evenings, celebrations, and every occasion that deserves more than ordinary.
Made in Ruby Cotton — lightweight enough to wear comfortably through a long dinner or celebration, structured enough to hold the silhouette that black demands. The burnt orange Kashmiri Aari embroidery runs across the notched round neckline, front panel, full straight sleeves, hemline of the tunic, and along the pants — a coverage that makes this the most boldly embroidered piece in the collection. Against jet black, every burnt orange motif reads with exceptional clarity.
The silhouette is a straight-cut tunic with side slits at the thigh, paired with matching straight pants. The notched round neckline frames the face cleanly. Full straight sleeves complete the look from shoulder to wrist. Relaxed, structured, and true-to-size — the kind of silhouette that photographs as well as it wears.

How to Style
For a festive evening — pair with gold chandelier earrings, a gold or burnt orange clutch, and pointed gold block heels. Black and gold is timeless — burnt orange embroidery makes it warmer and more contemporary than classic black ethnic wear.
For a dinner or celebration — style with oxidised silver statement earrings, a black silk clutch, and strappy heeled sandals. The embroidery across the front panel and sleeves means the outfit carries its own drama — jewellery plays a supporting role, not the lead.
For Diwali or festive occasions — wear with terracotta or burnt orange juttis to echo the embroidery, a potli bag in gold or black, and stacked gold bangles. This is the co-ord in the Novbahar Collection built for celebration — it does not need the occasion to dress it up. It dresses the occasion.
About the Craft & the Artisans
Kashmiri Aari embroidery at its most powerful is about contrast — the decision to place one colour against another in a way that makes both more visible than they would be alone. Burnt orange against black is one of the most considered colour decisions in the Novbahar Collection, reflecting an artisan's understanding of how warm tones behave against dark grounds. The craft takes its name from the aari, a fine hooked needle historically used to draw thread through fabric in continuous chain-stitch loops.
The motifs on every piece in the Novbahar Collection were designed by artisans based in the Kashmir Valley — craftspeople carrying generations of pattern-making and colour knowledge forward. The embroidery is produced in Kashmir and each co-ord set is stitched and finished there — ensuring the creative and economic value of this craft stays rooted in the community that created it.
At KashmirPheran, we believe Kashmiri craft belongs in a modern wardrobe — worn on the occasions that matter, and remembered long after them. The Novbahar 2026 Collection is our contribution to that.
