Every motif, every scroll, every border element in this kaftan is in the same hot pink, which means the artisan's design intelligence is visible in the placement and proportion of each element rather than the colour mixing. The scattered sprig motifs on the body reflect a traditional Kashmiri approach to surface decoration — individual motifs placed with breathing space between them, so each one is seen fully rather than lost in a field of pattern. The designs were conceived by artisan designers in the Kashmir Valley, produced there, and finished there.
