Description
On long winter nights in Kashmir, the saaz comes alive. The santoor, the sitar and the soft rhythm of Sufiyana music fill warm rooms while snow settles outside. Wandeh Saaz is that harmony, made to wear: a pheran in warm, earthen khaki, matching trousers and a softly draped stole, every piece in perfect tune with the others.
Every motif is hand-worked in Sozni. At the centre rises a crowned pair of paisleys in crimson, rose and lilac, and smaller paisleys are scattered across the chest and sleeves like notes on a page. Across the lower half, a flowing paisley vine of buds and blossoms unfurls in an unbroken rhythm, like a melody that never ends, and a floral border frames the split neckline. The stole carries an embroidered border with paisleys, and the trousers are finished with embroidery at the hem.
