Wandeh Siyah-e-Shab – Black Kashmiri Pheran with Silver Paisley & Leaf Aari Embroidery
Hamiast Fashion
Art: KP.25051-XS
Description
There is a moment in Kashmir’s Wandeh, late at night, when the Valley is wrapped in Siyah-e-Shab, the deep black of a winter night, and the first snow begins to fall, silver on black, silent and complete. Wandeh Siyah-e-Shab holds that moment.
The embroidery is Aari, the fine chain stitch of Kashmir, laid so densely in silver and soft grey that it becomes a sculpture of thread. A grand yoke of paisleys, curling scrolls and leaves cascades down the chest like snow settling on chinar branches, and it is repeated on the back, so the piece is just as striking from behind. Leaf sprays drift from the shoulders onto the sleeves, and the cuffs, pockets, side slits and hem are each traced with a delicate frost of the same silver.
Relaxed in cut and dramatic in effect, Wandeh Siyah-e-Shab is made for winter weddings, evening gatherings and every occasion that deserves quiet grandeur.
